Apple Watch series 6 cracked sensor

Does anyone know what would happen if I put a little glue or nail polish on the cracked sensor on my Apple Watch series 6? There is no option to repair it, only replace it. The watch still charges so at least it works to some degree but I don’t want to get tiny shards of glass in my skin. Thinking a little clear nail polish or glue could at least seal it up. Would love thoughts! Desperate!
