Upgrading to new Mac OS versions - Apple Community

Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan is the highest MacOS version your MacBook can go.

Also, you should stop using that old Safari Web browser and switch to something more current and up to date, like Mozilla Firefox or Waterfox Web browser, instead.
