“Hide Alerts” on messages keeps turning on automatically in a group conversation. I turn it off, restart the phone, only to find it turned on a bit later. What else can I do!

Thanks for your response. I renamed the group without deleting it. Restarted the phone and it worked. You can try that to see if it works.
Happens to me too with a certain group chat. Despite updating and restarting my phone over the course of the last month it’s been happening. It’s a known issue many other online have reported in other places (Reddit etc). They claim deleting that group chat and restarting one with the same people will resolve the issue. I’m not willing to do that bc I’ll lose the thread. Shameful these issues exist in a $1200.00 phone. Disappointed with the quality of my new AirPod pros compared to the first model as well.
