Retrieve desktop

I just updated to the latest 11.2.2 I lost all my desktop icons. Is there any way of retrieving them?

iMac, OS X 10.11

Lost Folders I lost my desktop folder in finder and when I tried to recover it, I lost my entire desktop. I somehow recovered my desktop but now all of my icon images are not populating in the folders. Everything says waiting to upload. How do I recover my icon images in my folders?

You put them in iCloud Drive.

Move them back.
