iPhone Won’t Redirect

Whenever I click links from emails/safari, they no longer redirect me to the apps I have downloaded, they will just open in safari. If I click open in app at the top of a safari page it will bring me to the App Store to download the app I already have downloaded. This happens to all apps I have. I have not been able to find a solution to these problems and it’s been going on for months. Anyone have any answers?

Hello asforza26,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's our understanding that links received in Mail automatically open in Safari rather than the app on your iPhone. We're happy to help.

If you haven't already, make sure that your iPhone has the latest software.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists, make sure that you're signed in to the apps in question and restart your iPhone. Restarting can resolve many unexpected behaviors.

Restart your iPhone

I am getting this happen as well. Brand new iPad Air 4th gen, latest and greatest software version (14.4.1), I’ve got all apps updated, have tried the “turn off/turn on again”. It opens the app, then immediately redirects to the webpage, requesting I log in there. If I close Safari, the app is open, but the page is blank.

Logged in on the app, so why should I have to log in on Safari? Is there any setting I can turn on/off to fix this?
