If iPad isn’t responding, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.

If this issue persists

If purchased from Apple, search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to try/attempt to make an appointment to get your Apple iPad replaced with another new iPad.

From Apple, they have a 14-day unconditional return policy.

OR, failing that,

Contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities OR by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

Tap the iOS App Store link below.

If this issue persists and you purchased elsewhere, you to return this iPad from where you purchased and purchase another new iPad.

You should NOT be having touch issues with a brand new iPad.

Best of Luck to You!
