I need to change the username part of this iCloud.com address. Been trying lots of different methods none of which have yet to work. Any help would be appreciated. I chose one device but this is more of a range of devices.

The username added with iCloud domain once added create a complete Apple ID address , the prefix of it can't be alerted as once Apple ID created is permanent , however you can make alias of it Use email aliases on iCloud.com - Apple Support
From the hardware address of device of Mac / iPhone / iPad used , also maximum three Apple ID can be created from a single device .
