Double sided printing with a Macbook Air and HP printer

I have been using the same MacBook Air and HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer for several years. When I go to print, I can select "double sided", it never prints double sided.

I went into System Preferences and selected Printers and Scanners, then selected Options and Supplies. I don't see the option to only select Option. All I see is General (with nothing telling me about double sided printing) or Supply which just tells me the ink levels.

What am I missing? How do I get it to print double sided again?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you haven't been able to print from your MacBook Air to your HP printer.

(Note: You wouldn't need to boot to recovery in order to repair the disk. In the case, the above explains you can do this from the macOS > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility app.)
