Share image on discord

Hi there,

it is my first Apple product, please excuse me.

I have an image saved on my "desktop" on the icloud. I wanna share it on discord, but when choosing to share something in Discord, it only shows me images that are saved in "images", nothing from "Files". How come? How can I access those? What is the difference between saving in one or the other anyway?

I can't AirDrop, I tried iCloud Photo Sharing but they said they never got any email about it. I don't want to post the pics to social media. What else is there? Google Photos allows me to create a hyperlink to an album and then copy paste that into email or text message. Is there no way to do this on iMac?
