Repacig old macbook air and old iPad for one device. Cant decide on iPad air or pro

I’ve been mac laptops for many years and am used to screen size. I am now retired and don’t need to conduct business or create documents. I need to update iPad and laptop so one device is all I need. I can purchase the iPad Air or iPad Pro with larger screen. Just want advice on adjusting to screen size. I will purchase Magic Keyboard for iPad air. Is the pro overkill and added expense for increased screen size? Both have pen option but I don’t do any drawing.

Right now, the iPad Pro is not good value at all. The iPad Air is essentially the same thing, except with a newer and faster processor, for less money. The only reason you would want to buy the iPad Pro was if you absolutely needed the upgraded model with the larger screen size.

Thank you. I’m an indecisive person and you have given me concrete reasons to stick to my original decision and but the iPad Air. I don’t need all the features of a pro. I will adapt to the screen size and buy the Magic Keyboard to give me more of a laptop experience.
