i would like to restore my old ipad but it will not connect to itunes and all I get on th e screen is an image of a connecter going to itunes icon.n.

I would like to restore an Ipad 4.1 but it will not connect to Itunes via USB cable .

I simply have an icon of a lightening cable going to the itunes icon on the screen.

What are my options please?
