Yale Assure locks losing connection with HomeKit

I have two Yale Assure locks that connect to HomeKit via iM1 modules. They worked well for months but recently they started periodically lose their connection with HomeKit. When I'm interacting with the HomePod I get an error from Siri that the lock isn't responding. Occasionally I'm able to control the locks through the Home app on my iPhone, but most of the time that also gives me an error that the locks are unresponsive. I can still control the locks through the Yale Secure app so it appears to be a problem on Apple's side. All of my software is up to date. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.

Hello there westrowb,

We understand you're just having an issue with these specific smart locks. Do you experience any issues with any other HomeKit accessories at all? If not, let's go over some general troubleshooting steps that you can try before having to contact the manufacturer for additional help.

First, check that all devices you use with HomeKit are completely up-to-date:

Update HomePod

Update Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to update your Apple TV

You may need to check with the manufacturer of your smart locks to see if there may be any firmware updates available through their application.

Also, make sure both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on all connected devices, and restart the devices that you're using with HomeKit. You may need to check with the manufacturer of your smart locks to see if there is a way to properly restart them to reset the connection.

We hope this helps!

Take care.

I temporarily disconnected homepod, ensured that apple tv was listed as the connected hub, tested the lock and reconnected the homepod mini…

I think you are right and after a while homepod mini automatically took the place as connected hub…

As I said, this is not a solution, but lets you know if the homepods are failing in order to isolate the problem and try to find out a definite solution.

I am having the exact same problem, and yes it also saturated only a few months ago. Had nearly 2 years of trouble free with the lock. All software is up to date on all Apple devices and on Yale door lock. Apple Watch always shows not responding. iPhone works intermittently and trying to command from Siri does not work either. Everything works perfectly from the Yale app.
