2 iMacs
I have purchased a 2020 iMac. I still have my 2010 iMac. They seem to be sharing files and information. Can I turn off File Sharing or change my Apple ID without losing information on my 2020 iMac?

This feature is made to easily access files, but if you want it off, go to the Mac you do not want iCloud using, then go to System Preferences > Apple ID/iCloud > iCloud Drive > turn off Desktop/Documents folder.

Hi Bruce_D,
Do the shared files appear in the iCloud part of Finder? Is iCloud Documents and Desktop on?
Cheers,
Jack
Yes. iCloud is accessible from both iMacs. If I copy a file to the desktop of my 2020 iMac it also appears on the desktop of my 2010 iMac.
Thanks Jack-19 for your help.
