Gen 1 iPad and AppStore login

I have a first generation iPad running iOS5.1.1 when I try to log into my AppStore account to download app, this old iPad give message "Please login with Apple ID authentication code that displayed in other device". Indeed, my other iPadmini device show one pop up window that contains 6 digits authentication code, but the point is that old iPad window only allow me to input the apple id and password, there is no place to input authentication code.

Each time I input the apple id and password, it will show the same message but not provide any place to input authentication code.

In short, the right login process is "step 1 - input apple id and password; step 2 - input authentication code", while in Gen 1 iPad and iOS5.1.1, looks there is no way to input authentication code.

How can I login AppStore in Gen1 iPad? Thanks a lot in advance!

When you receive the Verification Code, this needs to be appended to your Password. For example, if your Password is “PasswordABC” and the received Verification Code is “123456”, you will need to enter “PasswordABC123456” on the iPad.

It really does not matter any longer.

You have a nearly 11-year old iPad ( 11 years old in April 2021 )

There are NO MORE APPS available from the iOS App Store for an iOS 5 iPad any longer.

That iPad is totally useless and obsolete now.

There are no more apps to be had for this old an iPad model, any longer

NONE.

It's 2021, now!

Forget this old iPad and get yourself an iPad that is either much, MUCH newer ( like from 2015 and newer ) or a brand new iPad that can run the latest iPadOS 14 and has complete access to all present day iOS/iPadOS apps.

That iOS 5.1.1 iPad is DONE!

That iOS 5 iPad has no support or any apps, any longer.

Thanks Michel for your quick response, I will consider to buy new iPad :-)

While, it is still memorable for this old iPad, I still try to recover it with what I can do. Should I turn off two-steps authentication method to login AppStore from Gen1 iPad?

Apple now makes it impossible to turn off two-step authentication now, once it has been activated.
