Slow MacBook Air during zoom or any video calls

Seems my MacBook Air slows down dramatically when I am video calls like Teams or Zoom or GoogleMeet. The fan goes on and you just feel the MacBook Air is struggling to process anything else in the background. Is this simply that I didn't get enough processing power? I didn't add any when I bought this machine in Summer 2020.

How can I make it faster?
