Yesterday my I phone X lost it icon on my main screen. I cannot send a text. I can send one if I go to a phone number. Has anyone had this problem or know the repair to get it reinstalled on screen?

Good news is that the Messages app icon is still on your iPhone. It cannot be deleted. It can be found in the App Library. Go to your Home Screen and then SWIPE LEFT until you reach the App Library which is the last home screen page. Locate the Messages app icon and then TOUCH & DRAG it out of there and on to your favorite part of the home screen.
If the above becomes challenging for you then you can also reset your home screen layout and that will bring the Messages app icon back on the first home screen page. To do this:-
Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Reset Home Screen Layout : Once completed then you may have to re-arrange your home screen icons to your liking.

Do a search for it or look in the App Library or download it from the App Store. It doesn’t just disappear.
