I had to wipe the main drive on a Late 2012 iMac. Then I installed OS Mojave, which works well, but today I noted both Pages & Numbers apps are missing. I can't D/L them from the App Store as it states that I need Catalina to get them but my model iMac won't take that OS. How can I get Pages & Numbers apps?

Your iMac model can be upgraded to Catalina. If you're using software incompatible with it, restore older versions of them from a backup, or try downloading them from a Catalina or newer system first, or switch to a product such as LibreOffice.

If you downloaded them previously under your current Apple ID, check the App Store > Purchased. You may be able to download them from there.
Thanks for the reply & tip. The App Store doesn't appear to have "Purchased" any more, When I do a search for Pages, it shows the App with the iCloud symbol but warns I need OS 10.15. So ... I just dragged the apps from my old USB backup boot drive application folder that has High Sierra on it to the Mojave drive, and when activated the App Store icon changed to "Open", so they seem to run now. I'm not sure yet whether they're running from the USB drive or the main drive. Will investigate more, but seem to be making headway.
All the literature states that my Late 2012 iMac is limited to Mojave as the highest OS. I tried installing Catalina on the advice of a tech a few weeks ago and it totally screwed up my system which is what necessitated the hard drive wipe. Anyway, see my other response about just dragging the apps form another drive.
Further to the above, when I first ran the dragged over apps Numbers and Pages, I received an alert stating that there was an update and for me to install Catalina to get it. LOL - no thanks! Been there done that. I'll stick with the versions I have now as they seem to run okay. (The second activation of each didn't give me the update alert).
An after thought - judging from the Level you, Neil, and dialabrain have in this forum, I have to assume you both are pretty expert at the Mac. Would it be wise for me to try again upgrading to Catalina, even though most websites tell me that Mojave is highest I can go on a 2012 iMac? I bought a new Mac Mini (M1 chip) with Big Sur, so am trying to get this iMac prepared cleanly for my wife to replace her 2009 iMac (that runs El Capitan OS as the highest compatible). She doesn't need a lot of apps other than email, Pages, Numbers, browser, Zoom, Skype, etc. - the basic stuff. With that in mind, another question - is there a method for me to configure this iMac with her as the principal user without having to rewipe the drive again and start from scratch? She's not happy that HER iMac still says it's MY computer at times. I'm sort of off the main topic a bit so hope you don't mind my imposing a little more.
