All Macs have an Intel processor except those that come with the M1 processor. You can not change the processor.

If he's like me, he is running an incompatible program with no ETA on support - (I'm running UAD Luna recording software). My main reason for getting a Mac was to run this software to use their Shape instrument plugin. Alas, I found out after getting my new M1 Mini that it is not yet supported. I got the program working with Rosetta, but there are issues. When putting Shape on an instrument track, it crashes Luna. UAD is not forthcoming with an ETA, so it's been pretty frustrating so far.
