There are 2 ways to import/upload your music sheets to OnSong. The first one is a feature of the Premium version, which you have. The second one requires additional steps. Both solutions rely on the iPad camera to capture the scans.

  1. In the OnSong app, tap Songs, tap Songs (yes, this is another step), tap the "+" icon, tap Document Scanner and then refer to this document for the remaining steps (Sorry, I don't have OnSong): http://onsongapp.com/docs/features/scanner/
  2. In the Files app, tap "..." in the upper right corner, tap Scan Documents, position your iPad over the 1st sheet and press the circle button to take the scan. At this point you can adjust the picture by moving the little circles at each corner of the scan. When done (or if you don't need to adjust the scan), tap Keep Scan. Repeat the same steps for the other sheets. Once you have scanned all the sheets, tap Save, choose a location/folder where to save the document and tap Save. The document will be saved with the name "Scanned Document". Long-press the document, tap Rename to change it to a more meaningful name and tap Done. At this point, open OnSong and import the scanned document by following the steps in this article: http://onsongapp.com/docs/interface/menubar/songs-menu/all-songs/add/files/

Now, I'm not sure why you want to use OnSong but if your need is just to save your music sheets, I would not use OnSong and just use method #2 to save the sheets.

Well, I'm terribly sorry but I know nothing about music and music sheets. I doubt that you could search the document for specific tunes or notes. The PDF format usually used when scanning documents is great for finding words and characters but I doubt that it can do more than that.

This is what I meant by "I'm not sure why you want to use OnSong": I have no idea of your needs and, not being a musician or composer myself, I cannot infer it.

My recommendations would be:

  1. Use method #2 without importing in OnSong. Open the document and see if you can do what you need to accomplish.
  2. If the functionality is not sufficient or inexistent, use Method #1 since you have the Premium version of the app.

There is one more thing I gathered on the OnSong website: There is a way to "convert" imported documents that would make them look as if they had been created within the app. I assume that you will need to use this feature if you want to take advantage of all the functionality available in the app which, in particular, I assume, allow searching tune index. You'll need to read their documentation to understand exactly what their app can do for you.
