Work Phone - Personal Phone

I recently got a personal phone in order to truly keep work and personal business separate. To try and keep personal data (photos, email, texts, etc) off my business phone, I signed out of my Apple account. However, I’ve discovered that I need to be signed in to use AirDrop (and to download apps). What’s the best way to keep my personal data separate but still use AirDrop & download apps? Are there settings I can tweak on my work phone to prevent it from receiving personal data or do I need to create a separate “work” Apple ID?

Thanks in advance.

If you want the data to be separate, you need a work ID.

Apple ID - create a new.

Apple ID – Create

Apple ID - Could Not Create or Could Not Set Up iCloud message.

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. If possible, also set up Family Sharing  between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.
