Shipping to the US Virgin Islands

Why does Apple refuse to ship to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands? My wife’s laptop die and she wants a MacBook Air. St Thomas is part of the United States and the could use the US Postsl Service. This would be no different than shipping it to any state. It just doesn’t make any sense to me!

(IF no official Apple reseller store or authorized certified agent exists)

If for some reason there are no 'local resellers' of Apple M1 MacBook Air, in your region:

..You may try and contact larger US-based authorized Apple resellers such B&H Photo Video

(a reputable example) known to ship out of continental USA. ~This is one of several who do.

The newest MacBook/Air 13-inch, M1 Apple Silicon (system on chip) of higher specs is best.

Example: • Apple 13.3" MacBook Air M1 Chip with Retina Display (Late 2020, Space Gray)

8-core GPU/8-coreCPU is better overall (other has smaller SSD and less processor capacity

Other examples of similar product. ~ Ask about direct ordering from Authorized Apple reseller and add'l costs.

Apple 'authorized resellers' may ship to you from US, via major insured parcel service; inquire of fees/taxes.

This would be something to inquire. Apple Retail Store cannot ship outside its region. To see who may:

• Apple - Find Locations - Location Selector

https://locate.apple.com/findlocations

To locate independent Apple resellers:

Enter Full (US Virgin Islands) Address

Latin America & the Caribbean (english)

https://locate.apple.com/lac/en/

Shipping & Pickup - Shopping Help - Apple

U.S. Virgin Islands

"We regret that we cannot ship orders placed in the U.S. to addresses

outside the 50 states and Puerto Rico. Let us help you find an Apple

reseller to assist you in purchasing.."

Should the local US-VI reseller be unable to acquire newest hardware

in your region, is reason to inquire of US-based resellers, directly. Ask

about AppleCare+ extended plan coverage, for use in US-VI.

PS: Apple has never been known to use 'USPS.' Have always

used parcel delivery services. FedEx, United Parcel, DHL +etc.

They'll never deliver or ship to a post office; always to a street

address. Parcel service deliveries in AK rural areas, are a scream.

[I've a few terrible horror stories, this is factual example.]

Although they have been increasingly better over the decades.

..However, to allude 'different facts' in this matter, is pure fiction..

I've had -14°F Apple parcel deliveries by UPS, and had to thaw

them for 4+ hours, well after their driver/truck vanished 120 mi.

In unheated trucks ~ so I learned to wait before opening, least

frost form on the contents, and later short out due to moisture.

They returned to Anchorage. Leaving me to discover (on two

occasions) terminally damaged Apple computers inside boxes.

Never order expensive electronic gear, mid-cold-winter.

Independent authorized resellers in urban area, were un-

willing to perform 'AppleCare' repair on my UPS/FedEX

shipped Macs ~ arrived frozen with hidden damages.

I've history with literally dozen/dozens of older Macs; all DIY

repaired & given away. Most of that era were more repairable.

No longer have mac 'repair hobby' room; & only 4 macs now.

Good luck & happy trails!
