Mail app to reflect what happens on server??

I'm trying to use the native mail app to look at my Xfinity e-mail- where I can currently see it on the Xfinity Connect app as well as a web based tool. Comcast is going to stop support of the app soon, and using the web server means there's no app specific to email anymore.

While I can read the e-mail using the native mail app, when I do actions there, it does not get reflected in the server version- for instance if I just delete an e-mail, that does not happen on the server. Same goes for reading an e-mail. This is my main e-mail account, so it will pile up with a lot of stuff quickly on line- which means a lot of work every time I use a browser to check it.

This is an IMAP set up, and I do have "delete files" on- but I'm not sure what I am missing. For the rest of the set up, I have it set up as instructed by Xfinity.

Seeing the comments on the Xfinity help groups, I see that a lot of people are going to be affected by this, and, naturally, Xfinity is offering no support other than "use the web page".

Any help would be appreciated by many.

Thanks.

the header for this account is just "Comcast" and no other qualifier.

On the other hand, over my name info, the header is "POP Account Information", even though it's set up following xfinity's directions to be an imap set up.

I'll try to delete it and start over.

Go to Settings/Mail/Accounts and tap on the Xfinity account. Are you sure it says IMAP and not POP? Can you both send and receive with that account using the built in Mail app, on both cellular data and Wi-Fi? If it is set up as IMAP and you can both send and receive and it does not sync with the server that is a problem on the server side. Be sure to try both with and without Wi-Fi.

The next step would be to delete the account, restart your phone, then add it back.

That area does not exist under "Settings/General"

I have iOS 14.4, and the choices under Settings- General

I can find Accounts under Settings-Mail, and when I open that, neither POP or Imap is in the heading.
