how can i convert mini dvds onto my macbook air

You would need to get an external player/burner with a tray mechanism which will allow mini size. And, most likely - depending on the format of the files on them (are they photos or videos or what?) - a converter app to then convert them so you can look at them. All of that assuming these do not have commercial content, but are home made.
