how to see font names in the font?

Hi. When I am in Mail, and typing an email, I will sometimes want to change my font. When I select the font pull-down, it lists about 100 fonts on my Mac. Unfortunately, the font names are all listed in the same font, not in the font they represent. Is there anyway to have font names display in the font they are representing? Thanks.

I know it would be handy to see the actual font appearance in the Mail compose font selector, but the alternative way to see how the font appears is to press ⌘+T to toggle Show Fonts. On the left of that Font's panel toolbar is a gear icon and on its menu is a Show Preview menu item. This opens a new panel on the Font tool that shows the font appearance. This setting does not alter the font menu in the composition. Press
