Given the issue stated, we'd start with the following:


If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud

Trouble signing in to iCloud.com


You mentioned a problem communicating with iCloud, make sure your connected network is set up to work with Apple devices: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points


If needed:

If you forgot your Apple ID password

How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password


Should it persists, please reply with the following:

  1. What is happening when you attempt to sign in to the iCloud online? Here's a quick link to test it out: Sign in to iCloud
  2. Do you receive any errors? If so, what are those errors exactly?
  3. Any issues with your password or resetting the password?
