Hey there GLAMNANNY,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having some issues with the storage on your iPad fluctuating unexpectedly, and we'd be happy to help!

To get started, check out the following resource that can help with checking what apps or content is taking up the majority of your storage: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you find that "Other" storage is taking up majority of your space, this could be expected if you spend a good bit of time listening to music, watching videos, or viewing photos, as this would create cached files on your device so that content can be accessed quickly again.

Per the resource above, "Your device automatically deletes cached files and temporary files when it needs more space. You don't need to delete them yourself." which may be why you're seeing the fluctuating storage.

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!
