iPhone Calendar won’t change from US holidays

Hi. My iPhone calendar defaults to showing US holidays. When I update the region in phone settings to UK, the UK holidays appear for 24 hours then revert back to US despite the region remaining UK. How do I get UK holidays on my calendar permanently?

i have the latest OS but when I have managed to change to UK Holidays in the past it doesn’t last long and changes back to US Holidays all by itself...

If you want UK holidays on your phone for free follow these steps instead

Settings, calendar, accounts

add account

other

add subscribed calendar

https://icloud.com/holidays/GB_en-GB.ics

it seems pretty good to me. It all has all the bank holidays even for Scotland N.Ireland and Wales, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day etc etc...

Just FYI. I had a response to try updating the OS with the latest update. After doing this my calendar was still stuck on US holidays. However, I updated my region to Canada and waited for the Canadian holidays to come into the calendar. Then I swapped the region back to UK and this brought in the UK holidays into the calendar which seems to have worked.

Hey there fabiola298,

We'd like to help get your region's holiday calendar working correctly for the region you set in your iPhone.

As this is unexpected behavior, you may need to reach out to Apple Support regarding this, but we have a few things to rule out with you:

  1. The first step would be to restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone
  2. If you have a compatible model, the latest version is 14.4.1. You can verify the version number installed within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. If you go to Settings > General > Date & Time, set it to 'Automatic'(if not already), you'll want to confirm if the correct time is showing.
  4. Another thing to check would be if your carrier settings are up to date. This link will show how to Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad.

Take care!
