Drop down menus show in an illegible script font?

For various sites, specifically banking sites, the drop down menu shows the options in an illegible script font. I cannot figure out how to change this. Please advise.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.14

Try opening the Font Book app and doing File > Restore Standard Fonts and then restart your machine.
