I’ve had my AirPods since around Christmas time and since I’ve gotten them the left one will disconnect after about 1 song sometimes it’s both. They used to be my friends and he never had a problem with them. I’ve cleaned them, turned off the ear detection, unpaired and reconnect them many times and nothing is working.
Try putting them both in the case, and holding the back button on the case until the LED indicator is white. This will reset the AirPods entirely. It should tell you that they aren't your AirPods as if you got them new. Set them up again and see if this helps.
