Device limit reached

it says I have reached my limit. Even though, I have only ONE device, it keeps pausing my music. I don’t know how to sort it out. It’s really doing my head in. I bet I don’t get this much aggravation if I went over to Spotify. It says to remove devices but the only device linked to my account is my phone. I don’t want to remove the device in case I delete my whole music history and data. If anyone could help, that would be amazing.
