You can still remove activation lock. Just set up the device again and then turn off Find My.

Sorry, But a step is missing. you most remove the ipad from your Apple ID. you can do that from any computer: 👉🏼 https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage and then click on remove... or you can do it from your iPhone: got to settings, at the very top, it says your name and under it... click that, then you will see a list of all of your devices. then click the device you want to give to her, then click on [Remove from Account].

Be aware that erasing all content and settings will not remove the Activation Lock associated with the iPad.


To remove the Activation Lock, before you initiate the erase, you should first disable Find My iPad from Settings:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Find My > Find My iPad - set to OFF


Failure to remove the Activation Lock will cause future complications for the daughter, the new owner.
