Required to sign in to a deleted Apple ID?

Hey everyone, I previously owned an iPhone XR and had my Apple ID associated with that phone, and then I upgraded to a 12 pro max and figured it was time for a new iCloud account, and so I deleted the one associated with my XR (which I still have) and thought nothing of it... Now I am looking to sell my XR, but to reset the phone I have to sign out of Find My, but just a few weeks ago I received the email stating my Apple ID has already been deleted, so I can't sign out of it. Please help :(

"Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted."


If you still have the original receipt you can try asking Apple to reset the device: hhttps://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support


It wasn't really a good idea to change accounts with changing devices. You lose access to all features associated with the old account, as you are finding.
