(com.apple.CoreSimulator.CoreSimulatorService) keeps crashing

I just updated my MacBook pro to 11.2.2 from a previous Big Sur version and noticed that it's getting very slow and laggy. I checked activity monitor and noticed high usage of reportCrash. After checking console I see system.log is flooded by this line:

(com.apple.CoreSimulator.CoreSimulatorService[1112]): Service exited due to SIGABRT
(com.apple.CoreSimulator.CoreSimulatorService): Service only ran for 0 seconds. Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds.

and this line:

(com.apple.mdworker.shared.0D000000-0200-0000-0000-000000000000[1015]): Service exited due to SIGKILL | sent by mds[94]

and this line:

Libnotify: notify_register_coalesced_registration failed with code 9 on line 2835

Even after a restart I still immediately see these start outputting in my system.log.

This is my personal MacBook pro and I do not even do development work on it. (I do have Xcode installed and opened it a few times before, but that was 2+ years ago) I checked out this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251986569) but the solution didn't work for me.

Any help is much appreciated!!!
