Hello Piglet8616,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with FaceTime on your Mac, but it works OK on your iPhone and iPad. There could be an issue with a slow connection on your iMac. Using FaceTime does require a broadband connection. First, check for possible interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

Also make sure your Wi-Fi router is configured properly: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Keep us posted.

Take care.
