Max external monitors on M1 Macbook Pro - Big Sur 11.2.3

I feel I got pranked. I bought this highly praised M1 Macbook pro and I tried to connect 2 external monitors - that my 2 year old INTEL macbook pro could easily handle - and apparently.. they dont work!?

Is this some kind of joke or should I pack this and send it back yesterday?

cables used:

1 CalDigit Thunderbolt Dock (with Displayport)

1 UsbC-Display port 1.4 cable (supports 8K up to 60hz) from Maxonar https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Maxonar-Certified-32-4Gbps-Adapter/dp/B08B3XNZGS )

You know what bob the fisherman? I don't even need to read the specs, because there's absolutely no PC in the market with a price tag above 500 bucks that can't manage 2 external monitors.

I've spent thousands of euros/dollars to have Macbook pro machines for work and literally every iteration starting from 2013 onwards was worse than the previous one.

And while I'll be enjoying a multitude of ports and hubs ON the machine, all of you fanboys keep googling hacks and tricks and workarounds on how to get ... monitors .. working for your $2000 laptops.

Make assumptions much? I'm posting this from Windows . I have many Windows PCs. I have a couple of Macs. I always read the specs before buying a computer. Not all PCs are created equal and some may have different capabilities. It is always wise to read the specs. When I buy a car I ensure it does what I need it to do before making the purchase. Same goes for computers. I don't assume that because it is a jeep that it has four wheel drive.

Buy whatever you want.
