Apple ID Verification Code

So basicially, this week I got about 5-6 messagess "Your Apple ID Verification Code is:.......". And why is that? I've did nothing with my Apple ID, my Icloud or anything else, I didn't log in anywhere nor gave someone my email or password. Simply I didn't touch my apple account. So why do I keep recieving this messages? Today I got 2 in a row. Is someone trying to hack my account or something like that? I've already changed my password.

Please help because it makes me feel uneasy.

The normal method to receive codes on an Apple device is via iCloud encrypted push notifications. The first popup will always ask if you wish to allow the device to connect and will NOT show a code. The first popup will also include location information of the device that is trying to sign in. The actual 2FA code would only appear in the next popup if you tapped “allow” in the first.

Codes would only be sent to an SMS text number, or as a computer generated voice message to a telephone number as a backup in the event you are not using an Apple device.

Codes will never be sent by email as Apple does not support use of emails for 2FA codes.

SMS texts and emails however are common scams to try to capture your login information for malicious use.

Hi Grzywciak,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you are concerned your account has been compromised.

If you have two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, this is absolutely the best protection. You can see an example of a pop up message you'd receive if someone tried signing into your Apple ID: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID.

If you received this message in an email or SMS text, it's possible these were phishing attempts: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams or it could be a two-factor code being sent over SMS: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication.

If it was an attempt at signing in on another device and you have two-factor on your account, it would seem to be working as it should to protect your account.

Changing your password is a recommended step if you fear your account has been compromised: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised. Based on what you have told us, this doesn't seem to be the case, but please review the article.

Have a fantastic day!
