Is the Mac mini capable of executing a 50GB application while running Xcode ?

What on earth is an application that massive?
Something like that would only be capable of running
on a machine with 64 GB or more, if it doesn't choke on
something that size.
50GB is a start, the next size up is 1.1TB - as far as what it is - use your imagination !

Are you confusing RAM requirements for the app and
disk storage requirements?
The only Apple computer that could possibly even run an app
that uses 1.2 TB of RAM would be a MacPro (latest model) and
only a very small percentage of PCs made can even accomodate
such large amounts of RAM.
woodmeister50,
Thanks for your response.
I do understand the difference between Cache, Ram and Storage (been doing advanced computing for 30 years) - retired, finally have a reason to return to it.
The size of the program is only important from the standpoint that the larger it is, the more things that it can do. So a 1TB version will have more than 200 times the capability (scale appears to be non linear) of the 50GB version.
I understand that I can connect multiple Mac Minis together in a Master/Slave relationship.
Question: can I connect multiple Mac Pros together to achieve a larger machine or will the configuration yield a Master/Slave relationship.
Another scenario is that I distribute the program across tightly coupled smaller computers like having an array of Mac Mini's
Question: To do this with the Mac Mini, should I use the '10 Gigabit Ethernet (Nbase-T Ethernet with support for 1Gb, 2.5Gb, 5Gb, and 10Gb Ethernet using RJ‑45 connector), or can I get away with the less expensive Ethernet version.
Thanks for your help !

From my limited knowledge of distributed computing,
to do anything serious requires an OS designed for such a task.
Although an app can accomplish it, the OS will get in the way
and tend to make the multiprocessing "cluster" less efficient.
Also, in such a cluster, I would think that high speed fiber
linking would be desirable.
You should have mentioned from the start that your goal
was cluster computing because of that it is why I raised
the questions I did.

BTW - Thanks for the reply - I am looking at the tricked out Mac mini - I can't justify the cost of the tricked out Mac Pro yet.

Cluster computing was not my goal, it was one of several solutions given the size of the ultimate program.
Thanks again for your help.
