Can not call from Mac (Call using iPhone).

I'm not able to make calls from my MacBook Pro with "Call using iPhone" feature in FaceTime app. I can receive calls on Mac but when I try to call from Mac it says 'Your iPhone must use the same iCloud and FaceTime account'.

  1. Logged in with same Apple ID in Mac and iPhone.
  2. FaceTime is enabled with same Apple ID.
  3. Calls on other Devices is already enable on iPhone.
  4. Calls from iPhone already enabled in FaceTime app on Mac.
  5. Not working in Safe Mode as well.
  6. Tried to restart both devices.

Seems like dead end to me. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi uddesh,

Thanks for getting back to us with those answers. It sounds like you have covered just about everything, but there is another step you can try.

Set up a second admin account and test the feature Call using iPhone. If needed, see Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac for details.

If you still can’t use Call using iPhone on your Mac, you may want to reach out to Apple Support by going to Get Support

Have a great week!

Hello uddesh,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you can receive calls; but not able to make outgoing calls using the FaceTime app on your MacBook Pro.

That’s great troubleshooting so far that you’ve done on your own. There are a few more things you can look at that may help.

  • Does each device have Wi-Fi turned on?
  • Are both devices connected to the same network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
  • Does your network provider support Wi-fi Calling?
  • Are both your iPhone and MacBook Pro updated to the latest software versions? iOS 14.4.1 for the iPhone and macOS Big Sur to 11.2.3.

Reach back out if you still are unable to make calls. And let us know what software is installed so we can make sure we are providing the right steps. Some steps vary by version.

Cheers!

Hi SnickZ,

Thanks for replying.

Here is some additional information with answers of you questions.

  1. Yes, Wi-Fi is turned on in both devices.
  2. Both devices connected to same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Yes, my network provider supports Wi-Fi calling.
  4. My is running on macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and iPhone is running on IOS 14.4.1
  5. I have also tried to connect with different WI-FI network on both devices (in different physical location).

I hope information I provided will be helpful.

Thanks.
