My phone will not open the link for QR code scanned

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you are experiencing some troubles trying to scan a QR code using your iPhone. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

To start, we want to make sure that your iPhone is up to date with the latest iOS version. Take a look to see if there are any available iOS updates in Settings > General > Software Update:

Once you've updated, or confirmed the device is on the most recent iOS version, try opening the Camera app and focus the QR code in the center of the viewfinder on screen to see if it registers properly:

If the issue continues, we'd like to ask some additional questions to get a better understanding of the issue.

• Have you been able to scan QR codes properly in the past, or is this the first time you are trying?
• When you scan a QR code, does a link appear on the screen, or is the device not registering the QR code at all?
• If the QR code does register and a link appears, what happens when you try opening it? Do you get any sort of error messages on screen?
