iMessage "delievered" and not "read"

Hey, sorry if my English isn't very good.

So I started messaging with friends from iMessage which I never did before.

they were sharing their screen thru another app and I messaged them and I saw that when I send them a message it says "Read" and not "Delivered".

I looked it up online and everyone who had this problem said to check the messages settings, so I checked it and the "Send Read Receipts" option was already on, I don't know if it's a bug, but I just don't know what to do.

Sure, I can ignore it but I just want to see if the one I sent a message actually read my message. Thanks!

Hi there yewskovich,

We understand you're not seeing read receipts in the Messages app, and we'd like to share some information that can help.

You'll only see when the message is read if the person you're sending the iMessage to has this enabled. Having it enabled on your own device will allow for them to see when you've read it, as you noticed when screen sharing with your friend.
