Mail app disappeared from Apple Watch 5

The mail app has disappeared from my Apple Watch. I’ve tried all the usual fixes (watch and iPhone up to date, restarting both devices, making sure it’s selected in the watch app etc). I get the notifications on my watch so Mail is coming through. When I search mail in the App Store it suggests it’s installed as it says “Open” but when I click open nothing happens. Bit of a strange one and hoping I’m missing something obvious as it’s quite frustrating!

Hi Andyf2802,

We'd like to help provide some guidance for your Apple Watch. Follow these steps to unpair your Apple Watch and then pair again: Unpair and erase your Apple This will restore the Apple Watch back to factory settings which can help troubleshoot issues.

Make sure to keep your paired iPhone nearby as unpairing creates an Apple Watch backup to that iPhone. Also before this step, review this article to know what is expected when backing up your Apple Watch: Back up your Apple Watch

"Here's what your Apple Watch backup doesn't include

  • Bluetooth pairings
  • Credit or debit cards that are used for Apple Pay on your Apple Watch
  • Passcode for your Apple Watch
  • Messages*

When you unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone, your iPhone automatically creates a backup of your Apple Watch. Unpairing will erase all data from your Apple Watch. If your Apple Watch is unpaired while out of range of your iPhone, the backup might not have the latest data. When you're ready, you can pair your Apple Watch again and set it up from a backup."
