A. Reveal your Model:

What is the Model of your Mac? To find out...

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Click: About this Mac
  3. View: Second Line-Down

then...

B. Compare the Results:

See if the Model you found in the above step is shown here:


If Compatible...


II. Install Catalina:

Two Important Streps to Upgrading: Back Up, then Upgrade

A. Back Up Prior to the Installation:

Create a Time Machine Backup prior to the install, that way, you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the upgrade. Use an external hard drive that is at least 1.5 the total storage capacity as that of your internal hard drive.

B. Where to get the Upgrade:

  1. Go Here: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: Download macOS
  3. Click: macOS Catalina 10.15
  4. Proceed with the install
