ipod batteries

I have a couple of old ipods that haven't been used for a long time. Tried charging the batteries and nothing. They play for about a minute. Anyone know what I can do to get the batteries going again?

iPod battery July 2019: I have 2 iPods that were bought new and never used. I have been charging one irregularly and it is in a case also. The unit will not turn on. I have not even taken the other one out of the bubble wrap. I am very interested in getting 2 new batteries for both of these pieces. Thank You.

Charged iPod shuffle 4th Gen keeps telling "Battery low" I have just charged my iPod shuffle since it hadn't been charged for like years with the iPhone power brick and the iPod's charging cable. At first when I connected the iPod with my MacBook, it showed that the iPod was fully charged after a whole afternoon charging. But when I plugged in my earphones and used it, the iPod said "Battery low" and then shut down completely after a few minutes playing music. I tried to factory reset it for like 2 times and it didn't really help. Have anyone been through this? Please help me because the iPod means a lot to me. Thank you.

Replace the batteries. Tools and parts are available from Amazon, eBay, etc.
