Mac Printing error: Stopped - 'Filter' failed error message

When I try to print on my iMac from any application to an Epson SureColor P400 I get an error:

Stopped - 'Filter' failed error message

I tried:

  1. Updating the OS to Big Sur
  2. Removing and adding the printer in System Preferences
  3. Removed printer then downloaded drivers from Epson
  4. Clearing Photoshop permission files

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Hello eruna_ny,

Being able to print documents from your Mac is extremely important, and Apple Support Communities is a great place to find many resources that can help. This error appears to be specific to Epson, and they do have a fantastic troubleshooting article which is linked below that can help reach a resolution.

Mac OS X: How to resolve the messages "Error:/LibraryPrinters/EPSON/InkjectPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescppll.app/Contents/MacOS/rastertoescpll" and "'Filter' failed"

If you continue to have issues after completing their recommended steps you'll want to reach out to Epson for additional support. You can find their support details via their Support website.

Have a great day!
