Hi andrewlkp,
We understand you'd like to have applications you download on one device automatically download on another. We're happy to help.
To start you'll want to check Settings > your name at the top, on both devices to make sure you're currently signed into the same Apple ID on both.
Once you've confirmed you're signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices, navigate to Settings > App Store, then under the Automatic Downloads section at the top, turn on the Apps option on both devices.
Once this is enabled, any apps you download going forward will automatically be downloaded and installed on the other device. For apps you have already downloaded, you'll just need to click that cloud icon in the app store to download it on the other device.
