Safari keeps switching from Google to Yahoo

Please help. Safari keeps switching from Google to Yahoo

I have run Avast antivirus

Checked for unwanted extensions in preferences - there are no extensions at all

Uninstalled any App I cant recognise

Uninstalled Adobe - I think this started after I allowed an Adobe update

Google is set as default search engine

I have read every thread I can find, there are lots of references to adware removal tools but Im not sure how safe they are as they look like advertising sites

Please help, thanks
