Even though i changed the email address for my apple ID on iphone, to match that on my Mac, the phone is still asking for the password for an apple id I do not have. How can I get the phone to use the ID I use on my Mac?
Do I have to start again? Trouble is, I tried that before, but got the message 'that email address is already in use!!

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. After deleting the apps, it may be necessary to restart the device/computer before you can download the apps again. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply! I have not bought any apps/purchases, as I prefer to use my Mac for anything else and only use the phone as a phone for text whatsapp and some messages.
I just find it sooo frustrating when it happens! i'm not tech minded, so to struggle to find solutions is time consuming and infuriating! However, I did manage to shut the apple ID down and do it again, restarted the phone and WOW! I now have an iphone and a Mac which both have the same Apple ID!!
