Hello everyone !
Since I migrated to Big Sur, I can't re-edit some previously edited area of a PDF reopening the PDF. Is this normal ? This wasn't the case on previous OS version right ?
Both Edit are done exclusively in Preview.

Does the hand icon appear when you hover over an annotation?
I've tried everything to replicate your problem and I cannot. All of my annotations are still editable.

I just realised that I didn't edit PDF but JPG. It's highly unusual in my routine to do that. The person I work with has been sending me JPG instead of the Usual PDF...
When I use PDF it works like before!

You should be able to edit the Annotations you added to the document. What type of annotation are you trying to re-edit?
Note, you are not "editing" the PDF, you are only adding overlays on top of the document. Preview cannot "edit" the original PDF content.
Are you absolutely sure that it is a pdf file? Preview can of course open and annotate other files like jpge and png; but annotations on those files are written into the actual image, and cannot be edited.
This is exactly what I've been able to do until the last update (Big Sur), since then, the layers are not editable, once I saved and closed the PDF.
All edit types are impacted, lines, text etc...
Driving me crazy! Couldn't find anyone talking about the same issue until today!
