Remove case or screen protector which might interfer with your touch screen. If you don have them, Try a "forced" restart of your iPad, using these instructions:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top (power) button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 20-40 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear).

If the issue persists, contact Apple Support, using this link:--> Get Support

Are you perhaps using a case or a screen protector? If so, do you experience the same performance difficulties if they are removed from the iPad?

A forced-restart will often resolve isolated issues:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Lastly, you should seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You will find the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you would be well advised to take your iPad along to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad.

If necessary, you can open a support case using the Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, it can be downloaded from the App Store:
