Apple watch doesn’t pair with car audio

Recently purchased the series 6 watch and it recognizes my Kenwood head unit yet they don’t pair. Wish Apple would fix this. Much safer to raise my wrist than to lower my eyes.

I don't believe that the Apple Watch is designed to pair with automotive radio sets. This information in the User Guide does not address automotive radios. Connect Apple Watch to Bluetooth headphones or speakers - Apple Support

The Apple Watch does not have the software to automotive audio, and I would have to say that trying to control audio with the Apple Watch is much more dangerous than an iPhone. The iPhone has specialized software that allows other control as well as CarPlay.
